NEW MASTERWORKS

Colonel Marbles Masterworks announces the timely release of the January and February Masterworks (now divided into two parts to shorten your downloading time) so you can reminisce about what was new... back then.

The Colonel is aware that we're still a little behind schedule with our updates, but you'll have noticed the gap is slowly closing. So keep checking back for your next #cough monthly #cough update of this most excellent brochure...

As always, you can follow any ongoing debate as it happens on the frothforum.

Hopefully next month will see the release of the March and April Masterworks, whose delay is the result of your combined efforts on the frothforum that made compiling the Monthly Masterworks grow to be such a titanic undertaking.

Try and remember that next time you complain about it!

New Showcase: VSF

At the risk of blowing a gasket on our steam-powered printing press, we proudly present the beginning of an excellent series of Victorian Science Fiction showcases, created by illustrator John Bell (and his extraordinary troll friend Mr Jakar Nilson). A worthy addition to the ever growing list of showcases.

The first release features all manner of remarkable men (and women) for use in VSF gaming and is quite suitably titled Marvellous Men, while the second volume deals with all those odd but Amazing Automatons.

Future releases in this ongoing saga will include guides to vehicles and mysterious 'other beings'. Stay tuned for more Victorian extravaganzas!

Conquest of Paradise:
Dave Goes West

There will be no need to introduce this figure to you, my gentle reader, as you will already be familiar with the technical wonder that is 'Dave', the Frother Orc, available worldwide from our Webshoppe.

Over the past months we could not help but notice that a large number of our Daves were recruited by frothers based in the US. To further cut down on shipping delays, you can now order Dave directly from fozzbozz.com in the US! This not only means Dave will take less time to reach you, but also that you'll be able to pay for him in your own currency.

This does not mean Dave will no longer be available directly from our Webshoppe. We will of course continue to supply frothers everywhere with Daves, including to the US. So buy him now!

Made available to FU!UK by sculptor Seth Nash and mouldmaker Peter Brown of mouldmaker.com, the miniature is in "heroic" 28mm scale with a 'great big axe' and with heavy armour... an ideal champion for carving through legions of elves, dwarfs and other do-gooders.

Thunderbolt Mountain:
A Call To Painters

Sculpting god Tom Meier needs pictures of his painted Thunderbolt Mountain Wood Elf Nobles and he wants your help.

" Harbinger Magazine wants to do an article featuring our new Wood Elves. The problem is that we don't have any painted images of the nobles to send them. If you send us pictures of your painted Wood Elf Nobles, we will post them on our web page as well as submit them to Harbringer magazine for possible publication in their Issue #11."
- Tom Meier

Of course, Tom doesn't want your help to go unrewarded. Every person that submits pictures of the painted nobles receives their choice of the pre-release Elven Lady, Human, or Goblin. These figures are not going to be available generally through the TM website until September.

The deadline for picture submission is June 23rd so get your paints ready to answer the call of the Elves. An alliance once existed between Elves and men. Long ago they fought and died together. Now we must come to honor that alliance.

Foundry Heating Up?

The Foundry announces new releases! That's right frothers, the people at The Foundry have informed the world they are busy casting up stock of all those pre-release models that have been appearing on and off their site for a couple years now.

"We are busy casting up stock of new Vikings, Dwarfs, Elfen Nymphs, various animals, Greeks, Street Violence, Orcs and Orclings, Swashbucklers and suchlike.
It may still be a few months before the first of these see the light of day as an official release via our web site and adverts, and then perhaps a year before all of them are released. However, while we are building stock, we will be very happy to sell whatever we have available to our e-mail newsletter subscribers over the phone.
"
- The Foundry

Hmm... Methinks the clever chaps at Foundry found a new way to tell us they won't have any new releases for a while.

100 Kingdoms Get New Owner

The transfer of ownership of Black Orc Games, the company behind Hundred Kingdoms is now complete. To celebrate this a brand new (and vastly improved) online store was launched. There will be no more excuses to avoid getting these figures now. If you live in North America at least.

"We hope to continue on the path of the original game design. That being, a game which is both easy to learn yet difficult to master. We would also like to thank all the gamers/hobbyists who have made the game and the online community what it is today. Look for many exciting announcements in the near future."

Colonel M Says

Those months go by so quickly and though things may appear to have ground to a halt theres really a hive of activity as we skirmish against the enemies of miniature mastery. Like Quintus Fabius our troops were at first alarmed by an unexpected elephantine assault (see article), but have bravely recovered to produce yet another feast of fun for you- and they said it Cannae be done (thats enough Hannibalism -Ed).

What could be better for morale than a string of brilliant victories on a new front? A new mega-series of Showcases takes the #kof# monthly Masterworks into an area as yet untouched... Victorian Science Fiction! It is with great pleasure that I announce private Jakar Nilson's most excellent VSF showcase serial. The first two volumes of this epic tome are available for your perusal now. I am of course talking about the splendid Marvellous Men and Amazing Automatons Victorian supplements to Colonel Marble's Miniature Masterworks. And this is merely the beginning!

My staff is continuously slaving to keep up with the immense backlog of Monthly Masterworks, which have grown so big they needed to be split up into several pages to keep the required download time under the breaking point. This in itself is a fine tribute to all the frothers who've contributed to this wealth of miniature information through their posts on the forum.

Special mention goes to a fine frother who, totally unbidded, decided to sell off his entry in Artemis Black's Spyglass Painting contest and donate the auction price to the cause (and the FU!UK treasury). Private si2, we salute you. A word of grattitude also goes to renowned painter and esteemed member Jenova for placing the winning bid. Froth on!

No Miniature Masterworks is complete without rewarding some vigilant frother with the highly coveted frotherScout Cross for exemplary scouting achievements in the past months. This time the medal goes to the brave private Bloodfinger. May his shining example light the way to the less dedicated among the ranks.

Last time we proudly announced the release of 'Dave', the frother orc. Now we have even more exciting news for US-based frothers concerning this exclusive figure. Besides being available for worldwide ordering by way of our beautiful webshoppe, Dave will now cross the big pond and can be ordered directly from fozzbozz.com, North America's Most Enthusiastic Miniatures Dealer.

Now it has been brought under my attention that there are some privates among you who haven't yet professed their loyalty by ordering their copy of the frother orc Dave. They will be happy to hear there are plenty of Daves left, so don't be shy, get yours today!

Lastly, we haven't forgotten that we owe you two Miniatures of the Moment features, for April and May.

This issue's first MoM award deservedly goes to Dragonrune, not just for their dynamic new goblins, but rather for taking a difficult subject like fishmen and turn it into a line of supercool models, called the Komodons.

A few months ago, in our infinite wisdom we predicted the upcoming line of miniatures by Magnificent Egos might carve itself a way to this spot and lo and behold, these frothers started hitting us with pictures of unique and different quality figures, thus gaining themself the title of MoM and making this prophecy come true.

If you want to contact the Colonel, about any matter frothworthy (or you need an address to send that box of free sample miniatures) then call marbles@frothersunite.com and speak after the tone.

Remember- The Colonel Needs YOU!

MINIATURES OF THE MOMENT!!

Not content with producing one of the last decade's more dynamic Orc and Goblins miniature line, the people behind Dragonrune have turned in a new directon and bring us what is possibly the most innovative fantasy race we've seen in a while: The Komodons. Something fishy, you say? Yes, but in a good way.

For a long time it seemed the theme of fishmen was one that simply couldn't be made into goodlooking and believable miniatures. But the people at Dragonrune not only thought it could be done, they went and did it.

Not just a cool addition to existing fantasy lizardmen or aquatic armies, one can easily imagine these figures in a VSF inspired setting, be it as a lost tribe discovered by brave explorers or an alien race on a far away planet.

Don't hesitate to hit the forums and let us (and Dragonrune) know what you think!

Since a frother doesn't live on fish alone, our second MoM for this issue covers something completely different. The figures offered by Magnificent Egos, a new Texas-based miniature company, are sculpted by some of the great names in the industry to a collector's standard. The figures are slightly larger than the standard 28mm (around 35mm), something that seems to be the latest fashion, much to the dismay of established frothers. Luckily, the non-humans are scaleneutral and will easily find their way into quite a few proper scale (28mm) collections.

Urban Mammoth:
rather jolly good chaps

Last time we reported the demise of i-Kore and the rise of Urban Mammoth from its ashes. And there was much rejoicing that the Celtos and Void Miniature lines would live on.

However, there were many odd occurrences regarding the manner in which this change took place, which lead some frothers to muse about this on our forums, raising questions, hoping for an official statement from the new (old) company directors. Some even wondered whether something naughty might have happened.

Luckily the jolly good chaps at Urban Mammoth (and their friendly legal department) did not hesitate long to respond. Read all about it here.
